Welcome to the Pagan Almanac for January 24, 2009
It is the 25th day of the year, and I mention this partly because it’s what I do, and partly because it’s fun to see Heather Roll her eyes at the seeming redundancy of saying what day of the year it is in January.
Today, at 4:08 AM The Moon is in conjunction with Mercury and is void of course
At 1:56 PM, the moon enters Aquarius
It is also the birthday of Robert Burns, the famous Scottish poet, who was a bit lesser known as an occultist. He was born on this day in 1759, and millions of people still invoke him every New Year, singing Auld Lang Syne.
On Tuesday, the 27th, the Moon will be in
Conjunction with
On Friday, January 30, the moon will be in conjunction with Venus, and Void of Course at 4:24 am, and enters Aries at 10:25 am.
Saturday, the 31st marks the anniversary of the death of Dr. Fian in 1591, who was burned in Edunburgh. His sentence reads, in part,
“…That his legs were crushed and beaten together as small as might be, and the bones and flesh so bruised that the blood and marrow spouted forth in great abundance, whereby they were made unserviceable for ever. And notwithstanding all these grievous pains and cruel torments, he would not confess anything, so deeply had the devil entered into his heart, that he utterly denied all that which he had before avouched, and would say nothing thereunto but this: that what he had done and said before was only done and said for fear of the pains which he had endured.
Upon great consideration therefore taken by the Kings majesty and his council, as well for the due execution of justice upon such detestable malefactors, as also for example sake, to remain a terror to all others hereafter, that shall attempt to deal in the like wicked and ungodly actions , as witchcraft, sorcery, conjuration and such like, the said Doctor Fian was soon after arraigned, condemned and adjudged by the law to die, and then to be burned according to the law of that land, that provided in that behalf. Whereupon he was put into a cart, and being first strangled, he was immediately put into a great fire, being ready provided for that purpose, and there burned in the Castle Hill of Edinburgh, on a Saturday in the end of January, last part, 1591.”
It’s nice that some things have changed.

Prayer Requests
Every Sunday
Time: 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Location: Your own home
Notes: Please answer this request post stating your reason for healing energy
and/or prayers sent your way. Prayer requests can be asked for other than
healing and for other than yourself.
A white candle will be lit for you on Sunday unless you request another color
to be used. This is a group event so the more people involved the better. Feel
free to join sending out energy. Always keep in mind that requests are always
done for the highest good of all concerned. This may mean the outcome may be
different than we hope for. The spiritual healing work we do is designed to
work in harmony with other treatment modalities, not as a subsitute.

readings from the book, and beautiful artwork from a variety of
fabulous artists. Keep your eyes peeled on the various websites,
blogs, forums, podcasts, and social interaction sites where you have
heard or seen SJ Tucker or her music in the past. Clues for the
adventure could appear anywhere - even in your own city... even in

Imbolc: Festival of Light & Love Ritual
Jan. 29th. 2009, 7:00 pm
:
Imbolc: Festival of Light & Love
In the midst of the dead of winter, the small signs of the return of spring
glimmers forth. With the snow still surrounding us, let us celebrate the
Festival of Lights by celebrating love.
Learn more about Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love as we stand together against
the cold, longing for the warmth that awaits as the
Wheel slowly turns. Uncanoonuc CUUPS invites you to attend
this unique Mid-Winter Ritual. There is no fee to attend, but donations are
accepted.
After the ritual, everyone is invited to socialize (let us make connections
with each other!) and enjoy a potluck snack/desert. Mark your calendars - come
and learn about the nature of love, come to celebrate the turning of the Wheel
of the Year.
If you are looking for a new home, come and visit. If you wish to remain
solitary yet need a connection with others or if you simply do not have the
energy to celebrate on your own, then come! You will be welcomed.

As Within, So Without: Transformation Ritual
on Mar. 7th. 2009
At Myths & Maidens,
The Event Details: ~
This ritual asks you to take upon the Charge of the
Star Goddess:
"...And you who seek to know me,
Know that the seeking and yearning will avail you not,
Unless you know the Mystery:
For it that which you seek, you find not within yourself,
You will never find it without.
For behold,
I have been with you from the beginning,
And I am that which is attained at the end of desire."
"As Within, So Without" This is one of the Laws of Magick.
According to this Law, who you are within is reflected upon your external life.
If you have stability, love and security within you, then your life will mirror
that around you. If your internal world is filled with old tapes of judgements and impatience, then the world around you will
reflect that back . So how do we break the chains that
we ourselves have created? The first step is to know who you are.
In the various disciplines of spirituality throughout the world, they all
recommend the same first basic step: Know Thyself. This was written in ancient
times on the
Do you know who you are? Do you know where you are going? Is your life how
you want it to be? This ritual will help guide you to make positive changes in
your life. Let us begin to unlock the door within, and take upon ourselves the
task of transforming - so that we may one day reach our full potential.
As Within, So Without: Transformation.
