Supporting PaganFM!

Heather and I love doing PaganFM! It's certainly a way for us to support the pagan community in the Seacoast area, and now, with the podcast, the larger area as a world-wide community.

Monitoring the web traffic, the podcast is growing, with better than 50 downloads per day. We're starting to reach more and more people, and it's a blessing to us to know that we are making an impact.

PaganFM! isn't going away ... we intend to be here for the long haul. Dee started broadcastign at Portsmouth Community Radio just over 2 years ago, and Heather seems hooked. But we have opportunities for listeners to help make the program even better. There are a number of ways to do this.

One interesting way to support PaganFM! would be to work as correspondents. If you have journalism and recordign skills, we'd love to develop a network of correspondents around the world letting us know what's going on in the pagan community. Email dee@paganfm.com and let us know about your interests and capabilities.

If you'd like to support Portsmouth Community Radio, there are membership and underwriting opportunities available. Underwriting at Portsmouth Community Radio is inexpensive, and any underwriters who air on PaganFM! on the air are also aired on the podcast.

Also, if you wish to advertise with PaganFM!, please let me know. Advertising is different than underwriting. Underwriting permits us to let listeners know that a business or listener supports the station, but cannot be used to promote special deals or events. It is a statement of support that the station will read.

Advertising on PaganFM! is exclusive to the podcast, and will not be aired on the radio simply because FCC regulations prohibit us from doing so. If you wish to advertise on the podcast though, please email me, and we can discuss your needs. We can help with copywriting, production and getting your message out to our listeners.

So, why does PaganFM! need your help? If we are on the air anyway, and uploading the podcast, what else do we need?

Well, to tell you the truth, our time at Portsmouth Community Radio is as volunteers. No-one at the station is paid. We are supported entirely by our members and underwriters. That money helps the station.

But PaganFM! involves a lot of work behind the scenes. We record each show, and then come to the PaganFM! studio, where we rent space in an old mill building in Dover, NH. We have equipment there that needs to be maintained, we have Internet hosting fees that are paid monthly, blank CDs to purchase to record parts of the show, telephone expenses for various interviews, and music to purchase.

Also, we hope to cover more local and regional events. Your support of PaganFM! will help to make that possible.
